On Friday September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Focused care at Linden will be holding a health fair. While there you can enjoy food trucks, door prizes, free health screenings and participate in a blood drive with LifeShare. There will be activities for the whole family.

Executive Director of Operations Christine Donald, LNFA, of Focused Care at Linden is hoping for a good turnout from the greater Linden area in order to serve the community and provide essential health information. Donald would also like to introduce themselves to people in the community who might want to know more about the assisted living facility.

Donald says all are welcome to stope by and visit; “We are having a health fair to provide free screenings for our local community and help support local vendors as wells as a blood drive as local hospitals are always in need. While the link to register to donate blood ahead of time is https://donor.lifeshare.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/225I23, you can also donate on the spot conveniently at the health fair.

The fair is going to have a number of health resource you don’t want to miss out on says Donald, “home health agencies, hospice companies, estate planning and even a hearing aid specialist coming to this event.”

In order to keep the public, nursing home workers, and patrons safe during our current health crisis, “this event is outdoors and COVID precautions will be followed. Vendors will be distanced appropriately.” says Donald.

Looking forward to years to come Donald hopes this might be something that catches on and becomes an annual event, saying that an activity like this is important in order to provide education to our community.

An event like this is just an extension of Focused Care’s core beliefs. It provides an opportunity for servant leadership to give back resources to our community, explains Donald.

Outside of the cost for food vendors, and merchant goods the event is FREE along with a variety of food and services. “This event is open to the public. We encourage everyone to stop by for food, prizes, and screenings.”

Focused care at Linden is on 1201 W. Houston, right outside of downtown Linden.

“We are so excited for this event and hope people will take advantage of this opportunity. It can provide information on a wide range of topics.”
