Mark McKenzie, LNFA

CEO & Founder

Born and raised in North Richland Hills, Texas, Mark’s desire to be a part of what makes Texas great started at a young age.

It was a job he took while working on his graduate degree in education at Tarleton State University that set the course Mark would navigate for the next 25 years. Working as nursing assistant position at Mulberry Manor, turned out to be far more challenging than obtaining a master’s degree. Even as he worked toward academic achievement in another area of study,  the experience of providing care to elderly residents made an indelible impression and he credits that first-hand knowledge with guiding his career choice, leadership style and eventual ownership of skilled nursing care facilities in Texas.

Since that nursing assistant position, Mark has been successful at every level of leadership from Facility Administrator to Regional Vice-President and President and CEO for companies in Texas’ long term care sector.

Bridging from leading a company to owning a company was a long-held objective of Mark’s as he saw opportunity in smaller rural communities often not afforded the resources of long term care facilities in metropolitan locations.

Mark promotes the expectation of excellence throughout his company from leadership to team members to his former peers, the frontline nurse assistants. His theory for success is not all built into what equipment is in the therapy room, but rather embodied in the customer service. Every Focused Care facility showcases its inspirational motto, “It takes a minute to change a life.”

Mark has held leadership roles in the Texas Healh Care Association, serves on the Tarleton Foundation at his university alma mater and has been a member of key advocacy committees tasked with providing feedback to the Texas State Legislature on industry issues.

Satisfied with not being the biggest long term care company in Texas, Focused Care is determined to be the best.

Shawn Conley

Chief Financial Officer and Partner

Shawn’s healthcare experience began on the ground floor 19 years ago as CFO for a startup home health company and from there he has assisted in building several home health and skilled nursing companies from acquisitions and construction to thriving healthcare services businesses with solid financial health.

As CFO for Focused Post-Acute Care Partners, Shawn manages the construction and acquisition aspects of the business as well as debt and revenue growth.

“Skilled nursing care is a business and managing the financials of a growing company is no small task. What I appreciate about overseeing the financial aspect of Focused Care is that an important share of revenue is reinvested in caring for seniors and the people who have chosen the profession of long term care delivery. We cannot expect excellence in the care we provide if we don’t give back to our buildings, our team members and the residents we care for.”

Lori Strubbe, SPHR, LNFA

Chief Operating Officer and Partner

Lori Strubbe, SPHR, LNFA is a results-oriented business executive with a proven record of delivering value-added human resources and organization development programs aligned with strategic, operation and profit objectives. She has 25+ years of experience in various industries that include healthcare, manufacturing, retail, consumer products and staffing.   She worked in multi-state/multi-facility and global operations. Lori joined Focused Post-Acute Care Partners (FPACP) in January 2017 as the Vice President of People Solutions and quickly transitioned to her current role, Chief Operations Officer.

Becky Anderson, BA, RN

Chief Clinical Officer

Becky brings more than 22 years of clinical and administrative experience in long-term care to Focused Post Acute Care Partners.

She began her career in healthcare as a Nurse’s Aide while completing a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Following her move to Texas, she served in several roles on the provider side, including MDS Coordinator, Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and Regional Nurse Consultant. Becky also spent 9 years on the regulatory side with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services as a nurse surveyor and later as a Program Manager overseeing a team of surveyors.

Before joining Focused Care, she served as the Director of Clinical Services for a start-up long-term care company with 11 facilities in the state of Texas.
