Founder’s Message

We might all be seeing a lot of Year in Review segments on television, Youtube or social media links – this is the time when a montage of the last year’s events is offered up to remind us of the seminal moments – on a national and international scale – that occurred in the past year. It’s worth reviewing in our own minds the moments that moved us – one way or the other – in our personal lives and also those in our professional lives. The process doesn’t deliver the happiest or most disconcerting things exclusively – it offers both. And I think that’s a good thing because when we take stock in the past year wholistically – it offers us perspective and a launching pad into the New Year.

I begin 2025 with the utmost optimism as to how we move forward as a company and a community and this is due to our exciting transition of Lori Strubbe taking the helm as CEO of Focused Post Acute Care Partners. Lori is our 4-star General going into the new year and we wouldn’t be making this transition unless I had complete confidence in her ability to lead our mission to ensure success.

When you build something from the ground up it requires a tremendous amount of energy, sacrifice and belief that your goals are attainable, your strategy is sound, your objective is noble and the people you ask to come on board with you are capable and aligned with your philosophy. To move forward with that operation and continue to build a sturdy foundation in this business, you need processes. And while that may sound boring and bureaucratic and I think all of us in this very difficult and rewarding profession know that’s true – it is just the nature of what it takes to be consistently good and consistently successful at how we deliver care and stay solvent (and I mean that in many ways) – so we can continue to deliver that care.

I await this new year with positive anticipation of how Lori’s leadership will be transformative and take us to new heights of professionalism, quality of service and overall achievement. That said, none of this will materialize without an embrace of the processes and the will to succeed.  Below are some of my favorite quotes about challenges:

“All things are difficult before they are easy.”

“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

“A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence.”

I believe in our Focused Care team and its future and I think 2025 is going to be a landmark year.  Here’s to achieving the best of what we can be.
