Statewide Association for Long Term Care Facilities Bestows Honors to Outstanding Skilled Nursing Care Providers in Ten Regions Throughout Texas

(Center, TX) – Following one of the most challenging years as a health care provider caring for the most vulnerable population during a global pandemic, a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) at Focused Care at Center, a local long term skilled nursing care community, was recognized by the Texas Health Care Association (THCA) for her outstanding delivery of nursing care.  Vicki Burr, CNA, was presented with the award for Region 6 at the THCA’s Annual Convention in September.

“I was so excited to receive this honor and to be recognized by my peers, the family members of those I care for and most importantly, the residents of Focused Care at Center,” said Burr.  “This is a very difficult time for all of us and it means so much to know that people recognize you are in this job for all the right reasons and that you can make the lives of others better.”

Criteria for CNA awardees include:

• Innovation in caring for residents, addressing family members needs and fellow staff interaction in the delivery of nursing care in the long term care setting
• Dedication in the continued commitment and professional development

Nominees for the statewide recognition must have letters of recommendation from supervisors, Directors of Nurses, co-workers, residents and their family members. The assessment for recognition includes nursing skills and knowledge, the ability to deliver patient-centered care and the impact on residents’ health, safety, and quality of life.
